This one's for our younger geeks or for the geek parents who are looking for fun family events to take their younglings to. Scholastic and National Book Store are inviting everyone to the Geronimo Stilton Fan Convention on May 14 at the Glorietta 5 Atrium!

Here are the guidelines for the Open Art Exhibition:
1. From April 14 to May 10, 2011, a customer is entitled to join the Geronimo Stilton Art Exhibit.
2. The exhibit is open to customers who fall under one of the following age ranges: 7 to 9 years old, 10 to 12 years old
3. The customer must create a bookcover art that depicts the theme: A Geronimo Stilton Adventure in the Philippines. Each entry must be an original artwork based on the Geronimo Stilton chapter books
4. Entries shall be judged on the following criteria:
- Creativity and originality of concept: Freshness and imaginative interpretation of the theme - 30%
- Familiarity / similarity with the adventures of Geronimo Stilton - 30%
- Skill: Ability to execute the idea - (20%)
- Composition and design: Arrangement and combination of elements to form a pleasing whole - (20%)
5. All entries must have the following specs:
- Paper size: A3
- Acceptable Medium: Watercolor, Pastel, Crayon or Colored Pen / Pencils
6. Customers may submit more than one entry.
7. Entries must have a cover page with the following information: Name of Customer, Age, School, Complete Home Address, Contact Numbers, E-Mail Address (if any) and Signature. They must also indicate the NBS branch they regularly visit and is most accessible to them.
8. Entries must be dropped off at the Customer Service Area of any NBS branch on or before the deadline of submission of entries on May 10, 2011 at 8:00 p.m.
9. Entries must be sealed inside a plastic covering for protection
10. Entries must be brought personally to any NBS store branch and will be received by the Customer Service personnel for proper documentation and storage. These entries will be sent to the NBS Head Office (125 Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City) for safekeeping.
11. Judging of entries and awarding of prizes shall be on May 14, 2011 at the Geronimo Stilton Convention at 2:00 p.m.
12. The decision of the board of judges will be final.
13. Prizes are transferable but not convertible to cash.
14. A customer can win only once. If she/he wins more than once, she/he gets the bigger prize.

16. Winners will be notified through registered mail, e-mail notices, featured in press releases in major newspapers of general circulation, posted at the Customer Service area of all NBS branches, and announced in the National Book Store websites.
17. Metro Manila/NCR winners can also claim prizes at the Grolier-Scholastic office located at Penthouse 1, Prestige Tower, F. Ortigas Jr. Avenue, Ortigas, Pasig City. Provincial winners can claim their prizes at the nearest National Book Store branch in their provinces specified in the registered mail.
18. Winners must present all of the following proof of identification to claim their prizes: a valid original ID (i.e. birth certificate or school ID) and the notification letter.
